Did you know whole plant hemp extract is unique from other types of CBD?
Research shows that if you want to experience all the life-enhancing properties hemp has to offer, you need the whole plant.
Yet you might be wondering…
What exactly is whole plant CBD and why does it matter?
Keep reading for our insider’s guide to finding the best hemp for your needs.
Chances are, you’ve heard about CBD before.
But did you know there are other compounds present in the plant that also offer a wide range of potential health benefits?
Cannabidiol (AKA CBD) is one of over a hundred identified cannabinoids present.
But it doesn’t end there.
Along with cannabinoids, hemp plants also contain terpenes and phytocannabinoids.
Why is this significant?
Whole plant hemp extract contains the full range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and phytocannabinoids present.
Here’s where things get interesting:
Studies show that the compounds in hemp work synergistically and are more effective together than they are alone.
This phenomenon is known as the entourage effect.
Hence why whole plant hemp is so incredible, it contains the full range of compounds for maximum effect.
You might be wondering, though, what about other types of hemp CBD such as broad spectrum or isolate?
As it turns out, there is a big difference between whole plant (also known as full spectrum) and other types of extracts.
Broad spectrum CBD contains the whole range of cannabinoids and terpenes except for THC.
THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is responsible for the psychoactive qualities cannabis is associated with.
Hemp contains only trace quantities of THC.
If we want to get technical here, less than 0.3%
Hence why no matter how much hemp you have, you will not feel “high” as you would like when you’re consuming cannabis.
Broad spectrum removes the THC content completely.
While full spectrum, or whole plant, does not.
The drawback is that by removing the THC content, you are not getting the full entourage effect, which can greatly limit the therapeutic value.
What about CBD isolate?
With an isolate, you are only consuming Cannabidiol.
All other botanical compounds such as phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and other cannabinoids are removed.
By isolating CBD, there is no entourage effect.
This is why we recommend using full spectrum hemp CBD to experience the whole therapeutic potential.
Now you know why whole plant hemp extract is a game-changer.
